Why Satan?
This week in the BSF notes there was a section about the origins of Satan. One sentence I read stuck out in my head and started a thought process: We don't understand why God let Satan live after he rebelled in Heaven (my paraphrase - I don't have my notes with me). When I read this, I immediately thought 'If God showed mercy on Satan, who is much worse than me, then He will show mercy on me (which I have experienced).' But then I thought, 'All sin is equal in God's eyes. My sin is just as bad a Satan - which makes me like Satan (ugly thought) except for the fact that because I have accepted Christ as my Savior, when God looks at me, He sees righteousness through Christ's blood (thank goodness!).' So then I came back to the thought of why would God spare Satan? Why not just get rid of him? It took a while for me to mull over this, but I finally was inspired with the Spirit once again. God has always been about example. Perhaps God spared Satan as an example to us, to show us His mercy and our option to repent and turn to Him. If He had gotten rid of Satan (instead of conquering him on the cross), then we would live in fear of God (and not the good fear) that He would see our inadequacies and get rid of us too. But He lovingly shows His mercy for us and sent Christ to the cross to pay for our sin. And accepting Christ as my savior (and you accepting Him as your savior), repenting and turning to God, we thankfully accept His mercy and grace. We have a second chance - and this is something to really thank and praise the Lord for!

1 Down - 2 to Go
Today Paisley and I had our first visit to the nursing home as a therapy dog (and owner). She did pretty well. It was an observation visit for us and we have 2 more before we are officially registered with Therapy Dogs Inc. At our temperament test a few weeks ago, I was told that I need to work on teaching Paisley not to be overly interested in other dogs or bark at other dogs while we are visiting. I think she does this because she sees the other dogs and wants to play - she's just asking them to have some fun! But she did pretty well today. She only barked once and I corrected her. I also need to work on teaching her to walk by my side, not pulling and tugging at me. I have been using a 4 foot leash with her lately (since that is the longest allowed for Therapy Dogs, and no retractable leashes) and have been trying to teach her. However, today, she was overly interested in all the new sights, smells, and sounds that she didn't do very well - not horrible, but not as good as she has done on our walks lately. She is a curious dog, and today she was just even more curious - naturally so. But I was proud of her. She loved seeing all the faces and bringing joy to each room we visited.
Drowning in my Bedroom
I LOVE the rain and big storms. I just don't like when it's raining in my bedroom! How many times do I have to tell the apartment complex that my window leaks before they fix it? They have people come out here, but it is obviously not fixed. I mean seriously. Am I smarter than them to think that they could simulate rain with a water hose to make sure they fixed the leaks? I am not paying for these damages!
haha - my audio didnt really turn out right. guess thats what i get at 1:30am! maybe i'll fix it later.

It's official .. and intentional.
I have done it. I signed up for the Wellstone's Dallas White Rock (Half) Marathon. Thats right! I will intentionally be walking the 13.1 miles (and not a mistaken 13.1 mile 5K) on December 9. This time I will actually train for that many miles... and get there in time to walk with all my Brinks Inc coworkers (the Brinks Trailblazers)! Brinks says if we sign up we will get a Brinks Trailblazers dryfit shirt. I got one from the Big D - I wonder if I get another one! That will be nice.
