Police search for missing Skittles 12:15 PM CDT

A 22-year-old man has been accused of stealing a tractor trailer containing $250,000 worth of Skittles candy.
Officers responded to a call about 6:30 p.m. Saturday in the 5100 block of South Lamar Street in Dallas, according to a police report. When police arrived, they found a man removing the tires off a truck. The suspect told police he had paid another man $500 for the truck's tires and rims.
The truck, owned by Frozen Food Express of Lancaster, was valued at $85,000, and the trailer was valued at $30,000, according to the police report. The truck was to have contained a total of 28 pallets of Skittles, but seven were missing, Dallas police Senior Cpl. Donna Hernandez said.
Alan Chavez was arrested on an accusation of theft over $200,000, she said.
Police were still trying to locate the missing candy.
